MICELLANEOUS PARK PROJECTS
There's always a new project on the horizon at Santee Lakes. Here are some of the projects that we have planned to enhance the Park.
Gazebo & Shelter Replacement
In three separate locations in the Park, new shelters
are under construction. This
will give the visitors an
opportunity to picnic in
protected space and add needed
shade especially in the summer
months. The updated shelters will enhance these areas dramatically.
Lake 5 Shelter Replacement cost estimate: $90,000
Preserve Office Area Gazebo Replacement cost estimate: $85,000
North Lake 1 Shelter Replacement cost estimate: $90,000

Observational Trail
So far, through the assistance of state and federal grants, we’ve installed 2 miles of concrete walkways for walkers, bikers, joggers and people in wheelchairs to enjoy. Of course there are many miles of asphalt roads and trails to use in addition. The concrete walkway has been constructed along the water’s edge for enjoyment of all who use it.
Project total cost: $350,000

Trail & Environmental Signage
Guests to Santee Lakes have been enjoying the environment created over the past forty years and we believe that this enjoyment will be increased by adding trail and environmental informative signage to the Park's trail system. The
new signage is full color digital and eye catching while not taking away from the surrounding scenery.
Positioned throughout the Park's trails are eighteen"kiosks" with four components on each including: a facility map showing the trail systems throughout the Park as well as distance information; information showing the surrounding nature and environment; the history of Santee Lakes; and the importance of water reclamation and conservation.

Project cost estimate: $120,000
